Our Cicada Life Cycle Voice Thread



We made a voice thread about the life cycle of the cicada. We learned how it grows up to be a big, scary insect and learned a lot of other things about a cicada.

Our Cicada Poster

Today we made a poster about the life cycle of the cicada. It went from the cicada being an egg to a nymph to the metamorphosis stage to an adult. We also drew our own pictures of the cicada and wrote fun facts on the poster. We are going to use the information on this poster to make our voice thread.

KWL chart

Cicadas start out below the ground. They are called nymphs and make mud chimneys on the ground. Then the nymphs go on a tree trunk or a plant to molt. This means that they shed their exoskeleton. The cicadas have orange wings and they have red eyes. In the spring, the cicadas fly around and sing. They live on leaves and tree trunks.

We made a KWL chart about cicadas.
